Benjamin Schwartz, PT, DPT
Ben received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Columbia University. Prior to earning his Doctorate degree, Ben obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the Nutrition and Exercise Performance Lab to assist with muscle and protein metabolism research. His interest in maximizing health and longevity as well as optimizing human performance through exercise ultimately led him to the profession of physical therapy. While attending Columbia University’s Physical Therapy Doctorate program, he realized the huge impact effective Physical Therapy could have on someone’s life firsthand as he utilized newfound knowledge to rehab himself back to weightlifting pain- free after sustaining a lower back injury.
Through various clinical affiliations, Ben has worked with both older and younger patients with varying orthopedic injuries to help them return to their favorite activities. His passion for health and wellness along with his previous injury that kept him from participating in one of his favorite activities, allows him to connect with his patients empathetically while developing a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan.
Ben keeps up to date with the latest evidence in treatment techniques and approaches through reading peer reviewed journals and taking clinical education courses related to his interest in orthopedics. In his free time Ben enjoys playing guitar, swimming at the beach, golfing, weightlifting, hiking, gardening and playing with his dog, Luna.
