Youthen Joseph is a NYS licensed Massage Therapist and holds a degree in Occupational Studies from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences where he earned Dean’s List Honors. His education included clinical rotations with patients at hospice and in palliative care, NYC triathlon, and pre/post event sports massage for professional dancers.
As a professional dancer himself, Youthen studied at the Ailey School, Martha Graham and Alonzo King Lines Ballet. He has performed works by these choreographers as well as Ronald K. Brown, Uri Sands, Eleo Pomare and more. He has performed domestically as well as internationally, and on such stages as the Joyce Theater in Chelsea and the Apollo Theater.
Having sustained several injuries throughout his dance career, Youthen is empathetic and passionate about supporting professional performers and athletes in attaining and maintaining excellent performance condition, and he is also invested in supporting members of the community with massage that lowers stress, enhances mobility/freedom or range of motion in the body, and relieving acute to chronic pain. He combines his training in Deep Tissue, Medical, Sports, Myofascial Release, Trigger-Point Therapy and 5-element Shiatsu to create treatment plans tailored to the needs of each client.
Still an active dancer, Youthen continues to teach dance to students of varying ages and levels, and he loves to travel in his free time.
