Yeiddy Ferreira, MS, OTR/L
Yeiddy received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York where she also worked as a Teacher’s assistant for the classes of Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2. Yeiddy received her Bachelor of Arts in English studies in City College of New York.
Yeiddy has experience with rehabilitation of upper extremities injuries including conservative and post-surgical treatments/protocols, neurological conditions, burns, and splinting. She also has a certification in Physical Agent Modalities (PAMs), which she obtained in New Jersey. She has completed extensive continuing education in upper extremity rehabilitation and has attended numerous conferences with the American Society of Hand Therapy (ASHT), where she is an active member. Yeiddy is very passionate about her career and she finds joy in serving and helping those who are unable to get the service they need. Yeiddy had her first medical mission trip as a hand therapist in the Dominican Republic. After this experience, her passion for helping others grew further. This is when she came across Mercy Ships and accepted a three-month commitment to serve as a hand therapist in Sierra Leone, Africa. Yeiddy says: “It is heart-filling to be able to bring healing and joy to those who otherwise would not have found it”.
Yeiddy, enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Coco. She also enjoys staying active by going on walks and hikes. Yeiddy is also spending most of her time studying for the CHT Exam.
