Somer is the Director of Therapy Services at Inspir Carnegie Hill. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, and her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from The University of Texas in Austin.
Somer began her career working primarily in Outpatient Orthopedics with a focus on sports injuries and other musculoskeletal injuries. Over time, she developed a passion for treating geriatric and neurological populations. To further improve the well-being of her patients, Somer became certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation and gained experience treating vertigo, dizziness, and other balance disorders.
Somer is also LSVT BIG certified to treat patients with Parkinson’s Disease. She focuses on incorporating large amplitude movements to restore her patients’ sustained movements to decrease rigidity, risk of falls, and to normalize gait and daily movements. Somer prides herself in her ability to push her patients to their highest potential to maximize their independence and function to ensure they attain the highest quality of life.
In her spare time, Somer enjoys exercising, cooking, hiking, and traveling to new countries. Her favorite trip to date was a solo backpacking trip around Southeast Asia.
