Shelby Welton earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Before graduate school, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science from the University of California, Berkeley. During her time at Wash U, Shelby helped to provide physical therapy services at their pro bono clinic, volunteered as a ski instructor for youth adaptive skiing, and dedicated her time as an academic tutor in the program.

Shelby had various clinical experiences dispersed throughout her DPT curriculum. She had the opportunity to treat patients in the hospital post orthopedic surgeries and those recovering from neurological disorders at an inpatient rehab facility. Most of her clinical work was spent in the outpatient setting where she found her passion in orthopedics and sports rehab. Her training has provided her the skills to analyze an individual’s movement to identify the root of their impairments and design a customized, evidence-based treatment plan to help them achieve their goals. She strives to help people optimize their movement so they can return to their activities and prevent future injuries.

Outside of the clinic, Shelby enjoys being at the lake, skiing, snowboarding, fishing, running, and playing volleyball.
