Sam is originally from the Chicagoland area, and graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She was widely involved in her program, she worked for the department of physical therapy, volunteered at a health and wellness program for young students in an underserved neighborhood, and earned an alumni scholarship for academic excellence and involvement in the community. While completing her graduate studies, Sam taught group and private lessons at a local Irish dance academy. She created choreography, provided cross training exercises, and served as the technique specialist for the dancers who competed at the Midwest Regional Championships.

Sam is extremely passionate about dance, she Irish danced from ages 6-21 and loved every second of it. It gave her the opportunity to travel the world, and meet lifelong friends from across the globe. She competed at a variety of regional, national and international competitions, winning four consecutive regional titles, placing top three in North America, and top 15 in the world. Sam was inspired to join the field of physical therapy when she saw the vast effects it had on her fellow Irish dance classmates. The idea that physical therapy could not only get a dancer back to the studio safely, but potentially improve their quality of dancing was fascinating. She is excited to pair her extensive experience as a dancer with her clinical training in physical therapy in order to provide specialized care for dancers, gymnasts, figure skaters, and high level athletes.

Sam has a diverse set of clinical experiences. She has treated patients in the acute care setting on the island of Kauai, HI, and a wide variety of patients at outpatient orthopedic clinics in Chicago, IL. She has experience in treating post-surgical, running, cross fit, worker’s compensation, and weight loss focused populations.

During her time outside the clinic, Sam enjoys working out at the gym, going on long walks, teaching dance and spending quality time with friends and family.
