Nick Rivera is a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist and holds a degree in occupational studies from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences where he earned Dean’s List Honors.
Nick’s clinical education from the Swedish Institute includes working with Hospice patients, patients with Parkinson’s disease, different forms of arthritis, knee/hip replacements, etc.; and his knowledge of biomechanics from 8 years of experience as a certified Exercise Specialist through the American Academy of Personal Training (AAPT) and the C.H.E.K. Institute allows him to provide his clients with a thorough, clear, concise and effective therapeutic experience that creates a space for his clients to heal, become more aware of their body, and to feel comfortable being themselves.
Nick believes that touch is the primary language of compassion, and a primary way of spreading compassion. He combines that notion into his unique style that integrates training in several advanced western and eastern modalities including Swedish, deep tissue and trigger point style massage, myofascial and connective tissue release, Shiatsu and energy work.
On his time off, Nick loves to ride his bike along the streets of Brooklyn while stopping at local parks to engage in different movement practices and tapping into his inner child. Activities can include anything from juggling and handstands to running, martial arts, dance, lifting weights, etc. He also loves nature and trying new foods.
