Mia Operta, MS, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist- MS, OTR/L

Mia received her Master’s of Occupational Therapy from New York University and her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from East Tennessee State University. During her time at NYU, Mia was a founding member of NYU’s COTAD (Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity) chapter and served as co-chair of the chapter. Additionally, she was an NYU OT Student Ambassador.

Over the course of her fieldwork rotations, Mia gained clinical experience in inpatient acute care, including surgical ICU experience, and outpatient rehabilitation. Through these experiences, Mia discovered her passion for treating upper extremity and neurological conditions in the outpatient setting. Mia is passionate about utilizing a holistic, patient-centered approach to help patients achieve their goals and be as independent in their daily activities as possible.

Born and raised in East Tennessee, Mia dreamed of living in NYC since she was a freshman in high school and loves exploring the city. In her free time, Mia enjoys spending time with her loved ones, attending baseball games (Go Yanks!) and barre classes, going for long walks and hikes, and exploring all the beautiful parks NYC has to offer with family dog Walter. She loves music and attending concerts, with Taylor Swift being her all-time favorite.
