Maya Nisani, PT, DPT





Maya earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and Bachelor of Science from Touro University – Long Island, NY. During her time at Touro, Maya published two research articles, one on the effects of COVID-19 and another on the ideal Physical Therapist for individuals with limb loss. Touro honored Maya with the Maimonides Award for achieving the highest professional ideals of a practitioner. Prior to physical therapy school, Maya received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Muhlenberg College.
Maya has clinical experience in acute care, outpatient orthopedics, and neurological rehabilitation, but her talents lie in treating pelvic floor conditions for men and women. During school, Maya earned pelvic floor certifications and immersed herself in an intensive pelvic floor affiliation learning various treatment techniques. While creating a welcoming atmosphere and utilizing a holistic approach, Maya emphasizes the importance of providing all the tools necessary for patients to overcome their own condition.
Maya’s passion for physical therapy truly grew from her experiences playing rugby for ten years and working at a sports psychology company. She has always been an avid athlete. Growing up, Maya was involved in many sports including soccer, swimming, snowboarding, running, and softball. In her free time, Maya enjoys traveling, hiking, weightlifting, and spending time with her dog, family, and friends!
