Lia Amine received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York University and her Bachelor’s degree in Movement Science from the University of Michigan. Lia’s clinical experience includes orthopedics, pediatrics, and acute rehabilitation. Lia is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Lia focuses on manual therapy techniques in combination with neuromuscular reeducation to restore functional movement patterns in each of her patients. Lia has taken continuing education courses in the McKenzie method, which focuses on treatment for lower back and neck pain through repetitive movements in a directional preference. She also has an interest in Pilates and running analysis.
Lia has a passion for barre, which began when she started taking classes after tearing her ACL playing competitive soccer. Lia began teaching barre classes in 2011 and opened a Pure Barre studio in Michigan while pursuing her DPT at NYU. Lia continues to teach and take Pure Barre classes when she is not treating patients.
Lia enjoys staying active with running, various exercise classes, yoga, and hiking. During her free time, you can find Lia exercising, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the city.
