Kira Sterling, MS, OTR/L
Kira graduated from SUNY downstate – Health Sciences University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, where she served on the COTAD Board (Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity), leading and assisting in campus events. Kira received her undergraduate degree in behavioral health, graduating summa cum laude. She has gained clinical experience in the pelvic floor and has a passion for helping individuals who experience pain with sex and bladder/bowel dysfunction. She also has experience working in hand therapy and has a love of splinting.
Drawn to Occupational Therapy because of its holistic and pragmatic approaches to treating the whole person, she is committed to helping patients to thrive and engage fully in their lives.
Since childhood, she has been on the move! As an active member of a competitive dance team, she developed an appreciation for how the way we move impacts the way we feel. She was a lifeguard throughout high school and college. More recently, she developed a love of running and has completed the Brooklyn Half marathon three times. When not at the clinic, she likes exploring new restaurants in the city, going to see weird films, or just curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee. If you look outside of the city, you will also find her rock climbing, hiking, or swimming (when she can find a place)!
