Kelley Boyd is a NYS licensed Massage Therapist. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences. Kelley integrates western techniques, including myofascial release, trigger point and Swedish massage, with eastern techniques, including shiatsu and Tui Na, to create a unique healing experience for each individual. She has worked with triathletes, dancers, cancer patients, and those suffering from fibromyalgia and Parkinson’s. Kelley recently had the pleasure of volunteering with Global Healthworks Foundation on a medical mission to Chichicastanengo, Guatemala. While on the mission the team, composed of acupuncturists, massage therapists and reiki practitioners, provided more than 1,500 treatments in five days.
Kelley was first introduced to the benefits of massage therapy as a dancer with the American Ballet Theatre where she was a member of the corps de ballet for thirteen seasons. As a young professional dancer, she suffered a fracture to the fifth metatarsal of her left foot. After surgery to put the bone back together, she went through months of physical therapy, which also included massage sessions, to literally get her back on her toes. This experience led to her desire to pursue manual therapy and has given her a greater understanding and empathy for what patients go through as they rehabilitate their bodies to get back to doing what they love.
In her free time Kelley enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, going to the theater and enjoying the many culinary delights of NYC.
