Jimmy Olayos is the Clinical Director of SPEAR’s Brooklyn Heights location. Jimmy received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Franklin Pierce University in Manchester, NH. Prior to enrollment at Franklin Pierce, Jimmy received his undergraduate degree in Health & Fitness at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, CT. At Eastern, Jimmy was a member of the NCAA men’s basketball team and a member of the school’s athletic training staff.
Jimmy’s primary interests include outpatient sports medicine, post-operative rehabilitation, gait and runner biomechanics, and high level strength and conditioning. Jimmy is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is also certified in Functional Movement Systems’ Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) program.
Jimmy’s background as a former collegiate athlete and strength and conditioning coach gives him a unique perspective on a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. Jimmy integrates the latest in manual therapy techniques and evidenced-based exercise progressions to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Jimmy currently resides in Brooklyn Heights and enjoys basketball, climbing, and golf in his free time.
