Jennifer decided to attend New York College of Health Professions in 2003 after meeting with a woman who had just graduated from there. She was feeling pretty lost at the time and not sure what to do with her life. It turned out to be the best decision she could have made.
Jennifer graduated at the end of 2004, began working in early 2005 and has been working in the industry ever since. The beginning of her massage career revolved mainly around spa work with the exception of ten years spent every August massaging female tennis players at the US Open. She also worked a contract on a cruise ship that began in England and continued to the other side of the globe, which paired her love of massage with her love of traveling abroad.
In the last two years, Jennifer has begun to gravitate towards the medical side of massage, working in a chiropractor’s office and now, at SPEAR. Last year, Jennifer became certified in Bamboo Massage, incorporating warm bamboo rods into her treatments. The heat serves to help relax the muscles, while the bamboo provides a depth of stroke that isn’t possible to achieve on her own.
Jennifer’s personal interests include hiking, ice climbing and reading.
