Ioana earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida after graduating Cum Laude from University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology. During her time as a physical therapy student at UF, Ioana was involved with Florida’s Special Olympics, pro bono work with patients with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, as well as screening of the UF Baseball team. During her undergraduate years, Ioana was a Physiology of Exercise and Training teaching assistant, where she was able to share her excitement for physiology and her passion for teaching. Ioana was a research assistant at the McKnight Brain institute where she studied Alzheimer’s and worked on Drosophila models.

Ioana’s clinical experience has included acute care rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, pediatrics, and oncology rehabilitation. She developed an interest in treating pediatric patients with neurological conditions alongside post op orthopedic patients and sports rehabilitation. She enjoys designing individualized creative treatment plans and places emphasis on patient centric care while focusing on a holistic healing view. She enjoys working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and her goal is to help her patients achieve their highest function and quality of life.

Ioana grew up playing basketball, swimming, and practicing martial arts. Her favorite hobbies include snowboarding, surfing and skateboarding. After sustaining multiple injuries and dealing with chronic low back pain since the age of 10, she experienced firsthand the benefit of proper rehabilitation and how her physical therapists helped her return to her full potential. In her spare time Ioana enjoys hiking, yoga, running/skateboarding with her dog and snowboarding. She has hiked the Andes, Grand Tetons, Rockys, Denali, Carpathians, Dolomites and the Alps. Her next plan is to hike the Atlas mountain range in Northern Africa. She believes in mind body balance and you can find her relaxing with her pup in her off time at the many parks NYC has to offer.
