Hagi earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in Old Westbury, NY, and a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Nutrition from Herbert H. Lehman College. While at NYIT, she actively volunteered with the Rock Steady Boxing Program, supporting individuals with Parkinson’s disease. She continued to dedicate her time by volunteering with EMPOWER SCI at Stony Brook, a nonprofit organization camp focused on helping people with spinal cord injuries lead more fulfilling and independent lives.
During her time in PT school, Hagi gained clinical experience at an outpatient neurorehabilitation clinic, where she learned evidence-based practices in high-intensity gait training for patients aiming to regain walking ability and independence. Additionally, after completing a clinical rotation focused on pelvic floor therapy, she developed a strong interest in this specialty, having seen firsthand its significant impact and effectiveness on individual patients lives.
Hagi’s dream of becoming a physical therapist stems from her innate drive to maximize her own physical and mental potential. Having gone through a life altering experience when a close family member experienced a spinal cord injury and having been there though his full rehabilitation journey, further solidified her desire to be like those physical therapists which helped her close relative and family persevere through those difficult times. She is passionate about teaching and inspiring others to regain their strength and mobility, ultimately helping them achieve their personal goals and lead fulfilling, independent lives.
Hagi loves to stay active and is always on the move on her time off. She is a snowboarder by winter and a hiker, camper, swimmer by summer plus a full-time gym-goer. She enjoys trying out new hobbies and loves her pup Luna her jumping bean.
