Gagan was born in Toronto, Canada, later relocating with her family to Windsor, Ontario. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Science in Psychology from University of Windsor, and received her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. She moved to NYC in 2015 to further explore and practice as an Occupational Therapist. She originally only planned to stay for one year, but ended up falling in love with the city and has now made it her permanent home!
Gagan’s clinical experience includes working in different locations, including at a skilled nursing facility, an adult day habilitation setting, a school setting, and a sensory gym. In these various environments, she was able to see patients with many different diagnoses, including CVA, THA/TKA, LE/UE fractures, CHF, and developmental disabilities/delays such as cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome. Gagan realized Occupational Therapy was the perfect pursuit as it was an ideal mix of arts and science, giving her the flexibility to be creative in helping people reach their goals. Her focus is always patient-centered, assisting people to return to doing what they love most while working to build a strong therapeutic relationship. She also strives to work in collaboration with her other team members to build a supportive and welcoming environment for all.
In her free time, Gagan enjoys spending quality time with friends, attending sports games/concerts, and most of all—traveling! She looks forward to getting to travel more within the US, as well as internationally.
