Cristina Martello was born and raised in Queens, NY where she led an active lifestyle participating in track & field, swimming and dance. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Cristina’s interest in physical therapy began when she sustained orthopedic injuries during high school, and experienced neurological rehabilitation with her ill grandmother throughout childhood. This led to her interest in orthopedic therapy, sport rehabilitation, and management of complex neurological disease. Throughout college, she was a member of the cross country and track & field teams, choir, theater arts, and honors programs.
Throughout her clinical experiences, Cristina has gained expertise in orthopedic rehab, sport performance and return to play, athlete form analysis, orthopedic and neurological acute care rehab, and sub-acute rehab in Italy. She also had the opportunity to provide physical therapy services to an underserved community in Guatemala. Cristina enjoys meeting and working with new people to bring her patients back to lifestyle that is pain-free, active and enjoyable.
In her free time Cristina loves running, going to the beach, exploring NYC and traveling to Italy to visit her family.
