Courtney received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, with advanced coursework in clinical Orthopedics. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Courtney completed her clinical affiliations in a variety of challenging outpatient orthopedic and sports rehabilitation settings, including an internship with the IRONMAN Sport Medicine Institute at Memorial Hermann in Houston. While at Columbia, Courtney was able to combine her passion for injury prevention and movement analysis by participating in a research study that examined injury risk in Division I soccer players and performance on functional movement assessments.
Courtney’s interest in physical therapy developed after undergoing back-to-back ACL reconstructive surgeries and physical therapy rehabilitation due to injuries as a competitive soccer player. Having experienced the tremendous impact physical therapy had on her own life, Courtney looks to provide that same high level of individualization to her patients, so that they too may return to the activities they love. She has been able to work with patients and clients at all levels of athletic ability, from professional athletes, to marathon and triathlon competitors, and even individuals brand new to fitness! She also has a strong interest in treating patients recovering from post-surgical procedures.
Courtney has played numerous competitive sports including soccer, swimming, basketball, softball, and threw javelin while in high school. Currently, she stays active by running, doing HIIT-style training, lifting and skiing. So far, she has completed three half marathons and hopes to compete in a triathlon one day! In her free time, you can find her trying new cooking recipes, traveling both locally and globally to check out different food scenes, or taking weekend trips to her family’s home on the Jersey Shore.
