Anushka earned her bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from Rajiv Gandhi University, Karnataka. After which she was inspired to pursue her master’s degree in Kinesiology and exercise physiology at Dallas Baptist University, Texas.
After completing her bachelor degree Anushka started working as a Physical Therapist at Bombay Hospital and Medical Research Centre. Here she worked in the neurosurgery department and treated patients with brain and spinal cord injuries. She also treated a lot of geriatric patients with Parkinson’s, Ataxia and stroke. She did cardiac rehabilitation for patients post Cabg. Anushka also looked after pediatric patients with cerebral palsy and spina bifida with delayed developmental milestones. Alongside she worked in the outpatient clinic with an orthopedic surgeon where she treated a lot of sports injuries including rotator cuff tears, ACL and meniscal tear. Anushka has experience in rehabilitation of athletes with recurrent ankle sprains. Anushka has done workshops on aquatic therapy, myofascial and trigger point release and IASTM, and maitland mobilization. During Covid 19 Anushka worked in the ICU and did Covid rehabilitation.
Anushka believes that no individual should live their life with restrictions! She as a therapist strives to give people their lives back and not restrict it. She treats her clients with a holistic approach! It brings her immense pleasure when her clients can be independent and live their best possible lives pain free! When Anushka is not treating patients you can find her in a café enjoying a dessert and coffee! She also likes to travel and loves being overdressed! Anushka’s gym is her belly dance class! She thinks she can shimmy away her calories! Anushka loves to meet people and talk and know more about them, because each individual has a unique story to share! She thinks she can learn something new from each individual she meets! After all her name Anushka means “ to find something new.”
