Anika earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Stony Brook University after earning her Master’s degree in Exercise Science from Long Island University. During her college years at City College of New York, Anika competed as a basketball player and was voted captain her freshman year, titled the Atlantic region rookie of the year and led the entire division III in steals per game at 5.9. After, Anika then transferred to Barry University, where she earned a full athletic scholarship while maintaining Magna Cum Laude GPA graduating with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Physical Education K-12.

During her time at Barry University, Anika focused her studies on coaching, motor learning and analyzing human biomechanics. It was this foundation which inspired Anika in becoming a personal trainer at Equinox health club, Tribeca New York. During her time at Long Island University, Anika had the opportunity to train DI-III athletes training for the various professional leagues in basketball, soccer, tennis, and baseball as well as working with adolescent athletes adhering with return to sport guidelines. During her time at Stony Brook University, Anika had the opportunity to be part of the volunteer medical team at the TCS New York City Marathon, treating adult runners with orthopedic, neurological dysfunction and medical emergencies.

Throughout Anika’s clinical affiliation at an outpatient and school based pediatric rehabilitation setting she gained experience working with infants, toddlers, and young children with various developmental delays. Anika’s additional clinical affiliations allowed her the opportunity to work with collegiate and school-aged athletes as well as the diverse adult population in both the acute care and outpatient settings. Anika has experience treating a variety of diagnoses including sport-related, post-operative, neurological, and chronic pain diagnoses with a focus on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.

When Anika was first introduced to physical therapy, her mission grew to service the healthcare consumer with a unique personalized experience, an experience that arrives at remarkable results. Anika now enjoys treating a diverse patient population, with the goal of educating and empowering patients through functional movement.

Outside of the clinic, Anika loves to play basketball, body build/powerlift, hike, volunteer at local community events and travel in her free time.
