Aaron Kraus earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Stony Brook University. During his time as a Doctorate student, he was selected to be a student liaison and interviewer for applicant’s entering the Physical Therapy program. As an undergraduate, Aaron was heavily involved with the sports medicine department at Stony Brook University, providing Athletic Training services during on-site football for two semesters. Additionally, he spent a semester at St. Joseph’s College and Longwood High School sports programs. Aaron graduated from the Athletic Training program with honors, and was inducted into the Iota Tau Alpha Honor Society.

Aaron has been an avid athlete throughout his life, participating in competitive soccer from the age of five to varsity level in high school. Later, he took an interest in extreme sports such as skateboarding, snowboarding and water skiing. Aaron has even attended the notable extreme sports camp, ‘Woodward’, where he spent most of his summers during his teenage years. Being involved in such demanding sports helped spark an interest in the medical field. It was as early as junior year of high school that Aaron showed a curiosity in Physical Therapy.

Aaron’s clinical experiences include a variety of inpatient and outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine affiliations. These affiliations helped expand his knowledge in both orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation. Aaron has gained 1,500 hours of Athletic Training experience at the Division I level, including a range of multi-level athletes. Aaron also has three years’ experience in the wellness/fitness industry, working for Equinox Fitness as a personal trainer. He also gained valuable experience at a start-up company as a clinical exercise specialist for patients with risk factors for heart disease and diabetes. Through these opportunities, Aaron worked alongside an array of medical professionals, including internists, cardiologists, nurses, nutritionists and licensed social workers.

Aaron continues to have a passion for music, and has enjoyed DJing for over 15 years. He also enjoys traveling, which fuels an interest in cooking ethnic foods, as well as being with the company of his friends.
