A.J. received his doctorate in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College, where he also received a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Health Studies, graduating manga cum laude. Through his clinical education he gained experience in outpatient orthopedic and acute care settings. His research project at Ithaca consisted of vestibular rehabilitation for post-concussive patients. Outside of academics, A.J. participated on the men’s varsity soccer team at Ithaca, serving as a captain during his junior and senior year. During his time as a graduate student he also had the opportunity to serve as an assistant coach with the men’s varsity team.
A.J. was first drawn to the physical therapy profession while rehabbing a leg fracture in high school. As a former collegiate athlete, it’s his passion to work with athletes of all forms which led him to join SPEAR’s team. It is his goal to educate and empower his patients so they are able to eventually self-manage their conditions. His clinical interests include sports medicine, manual therapy, McKenzie method of treatment, vestibular rehabilitation, and running analysis/rehabilitation. A.J. has goals of receiving his MDT and CSCS in the future.
Outside of the clinic, A.J. continues to stay active by competing in recreational soccer and basketball and he also enjoys distance running with goals of competing in half marathons in the future. He is an avid fan of Syracuse University athletics and Manchester United.
