Director of Hand Therapy - OTD, OTR/L

Tori Alexander, OTD, OTR/L

Financial District - 30 Broad

Tori earned her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from University of Florida. During her academic studies, she was involved in leadership and professional development, including serving on the executive board of a student-run pro-bono occupational therapy clinic, and engaging in and presenting research on elbow tendinopathy at the Florida Occupational Therapy Association Conference. Prior to graduate school, she completed her undergraduate degree in biological health science from University of South Florida.

Tori is passionate about assisting patients with diagnoses affecting the hand, wrist, arm and shoulder to return to meaningful activities and regain/maintain functional use of their upper extremity. Her clinical experience includes treatment of orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, repetitive trauma and sports-related upper extremity conditions across the lifespan. Her approach is tailored towards each patient’s unique goals and limitations and may include manual soft tissue or joint mobilization techniques, therapeutic exercise, custom fabrication of orthotics (splints) or training on use of assistive devices. She also has experience in the hospital setting working with patients with various cardiothoracic, neurological and systemic conditions including burns and amputations. At any age and in any setting, Tori’s main priority is that the patient and/or their caregiver understands why a treatment component is beneficial, what it will impact, and how to use or perform it safely and properly.

Tori’s personal interests include fitness in all of its forms. She enjoys remaining active by strength training, hiking, playing golf, running, cycling and engaging in yoga, pilates and meditation. In her downtime she can be found with her husband and two dogs binge watching a good (or cringeworthy) TV show, or exploring all the arts, culture and outdoor activities that the NYC area has to offer.
