Tanvi is pursuing a Master’s in Exercise Science and Kinesiology at Long Island University, Brooklyn alongside working part time at Spear. She has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree from KIMS University, India, where she gained extensive clinical training across various specialties. To further enhance my expertise, she has obtained certifications like NASM’s Certified Nutrition Coach, Performance Enhancement Specialist, and working towards certification in Corrective Exercise and Nutrition. She also has contributed to innovation in rehabilitation tools, holding patents and copyrights for projects such as designing an armchair with a desklet for maintaining a good posture.
In Mumbai, India, she worked as a Physical Therapist for over a year treating musculoskeletal, geriatric, and neurological patients while balancing conventional and advanced approaches of manual therapy taping and IASTM. She gained valuable exposure as an observer at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where she worked in all specialities including robot-assisted gait training. Additionally, during her clinical internship at KIMS University, she provided rehabilitation for a broad spectrum of conditions, from orthopedic injuries to neurological and cardiopulmonary disorders in outpatient and hospital-inpatient and ICU setup. She had great exposure in the Oncology department of Physical therapy mainly in Breast and Oral cancer patients during her Bachelors.
With a strong foundation in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, she is passionate about evidence-based treatment approaches and genuinely believes that overall well being is more important than just being physically fit. My interests extend to research, particularly in hand dominance and its impact on movement patterns, as reflected in my authored projects mentioned above. This is because she is a left handed people’s supporter, being a left handed overwriter myself. As a PT, she surely observes people’s posture but nothing pleases me more than observing someone how they write! Outside of work, she often combines running with music as a way to unwind and stay fit. She also likes drawing and painting. An avid traveler and food enthusiast, she loves exploring new places and cuisines, embracing different cultures through their culinary traditions in NY, a trait she developed from my home city Mumbai!
