Occupational Therapist - OTR/L

Shane Williams, OTR/L

Downtown Brooklyn – City Point

Shane Williams received his Bachelor’s in Life Sciences in 2017 followed by his Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2019 from New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, New York. He was originally on the path to become a Nurse and had a change of heart. His interest in  Occupational Therapy began after experiencing multiple sports related injuries while playing  soccer and running track and field. After endless physical and occupational therapy treatments in his younger years, Shane volunteered over 4,000 hours at New York Presbyterian Queens and various outpatient clinics.

After graduating, Shane continued to expand his interests in the outpatient orthopedic realm by treating a wide variety of conditions. Shane has extensive experience working with patients with neurological and upper extremity conditions such Dequervains tenosynovitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, radial nerve entrapment, Parkinson’s disease and cerebral vascular accidents. Shane also worked with children ages birth to 3 years old who needed occupational therapy to perform at their expected developmental age. Shane enjoys and yearns to work with any population and medical conditions because it promotes expansion of his overall knowledge and taps into his creative abilities.

When Shane is not assisting others in reaching their full rehabilitation potential you can catch him at the gym weightlifting, running, hanging out with his dog, Bentley, and eating at various restaurants in the 5 boroughs.
