Mikayla earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia before moving to NYC and receiving her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University. She took advanced coursework through Columbia in orthopedics, sports, yoga, and diagnostic imaging.
During her graduate studies Mikayla participated in an injury screening research project with the Columbia men’s lightweight rowing team. She also studied and lectured to her classmates on identification and treatment of hypermobility spectrum disorders. Her clinical rotations included multiple outpatient clinics across the city working with patients with both chronic and acute pain as well as an acute care rotation working mainly with post-op spinal surgery patients.
Mikayla is originally from Potomac Falls, VA. Outside of clinical practice, she has volunteered in the anatomy lab with first year PT students as well as West Side Campaign Against Hunger. In her free time Mikayla enjoys weightlifting, reading, crocheting, traveling, and exploring the city with her fiancé, friends, and family.
