Matthew is a Physical Therapist and the Clinical Director at the East 56th Street location. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Matthew received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Penn State University. He is originally from New Jersey but spent the last eight years in both Philadelphia and Chicago prior to moving to New York in late 2022.
Matthew has worked in Orthopedic Physical Therapy since becoming a Physical Therapist in 2015. He has served in multiple clinical, mentoring, and leadership roles prior to joining our team at Spear. He currently holds his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification which he earned in 2019 along with training in Blood Flow Restriction, Kinesio Taping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue, and Manual Therapy. He believes in the power of being hands-on with his patients along with the use of a comprehensive full-body approach in the treatment of his patients.
Matthew has also spent time as a PT with USA Track and Field and the Professional Squash Association where he has served on the staff at multiple tournaments and meets. Along with this, Matthew has a special interest in the treatment of lower extremity/foot and ankle injuries along with helping runners and walkers to get back to what they love to do. Matthew also has experience as a research reviewer and blog writer for various sports and performance topics.
In his free time, Matthew enjoys outdoor activities including running, biking, soccer, and hiking. Being new to the city, Matthew is excited to experience everything New York has to offer from unique experiences, new dining options, and meeting new people. Although this is the case, Matthew is still a diehard Philadelphia Eagles and Sixers fan.
