Laura is a dedicated Physical Therapist with a strong background in occupational health management and rehabilitation care following cancer treatments. She graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from Fundación Universitaria María Cano in Colombia in 2019. Throughout her physical therapy education, Laura gained diverse clinical experience in areas such as, but not limited to, sports and orthopedics, which helped shape her well-rounded approach to patient care.
Laura’s fascination with human movement has been a driving force throughout her career. Her natural empathy and curiosity has fueled a deep desire to understand the inner workings of the human body and its movement. She also completed a specialization in Occupational Health Management at Fundación Universitaria María Cano, which sharpened her skills in improving workplace health and safety.
Additionally, Laura has worked as a Physical Therapist at Instituto Cancerología las Américas in Medellín, where she developed and managed treatment plans for cancer patients. Her focus included managing issues like lymphedema and helping patients adjust to daily life after cancer. Her work involved creating strategies to support recovery and enhance patients’ quality of life.
Laura also has experience working with pediatric patients in an outpatient clinic, where she addressed a variety of syndromes and neurologic disorders. This experience broadened her expertise and deepened her understanding of diverse patient needs.
Outside of her professional achievements, Laura is passionate about sports and enjoys running, weightlifting, hiking, and spending time at the beach. She is also an avid scuba diver with plans to explore the oceans around the world. Laura loves to spend time with her family and friends, and these activities help her stay healthy and inspire her approach to physical therapy and patient care.
