Kyle earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Ithaca College, where he also completed his undergraduate education, receiving a degree in Clinical Health Studies with a minor in Sports Studies. While earning his degree, Kyle was a member of the Varsity Track and Field team and competed in long/triple jump as well as short sprints. During graduate school, he served as a Teaching Assistant for various courses that focused on manual therapy techniques, such as joint mobilization and treating/evaluating the spine. He also completed research with his peers regarding the use of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction with PT students, as well as the role of physical therapy in cancer treatment. Currently, Kyle is serving as a member of the American Physical Therapy Association Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion project committee.
During his clinical studies, Kyle treated diverse groups of patients across various settings. His primary experiences were in outpatient orthopedic/sports clinics with a focus on treating spine conditions, as well as conducting Running Analyses. He also treated patients in the Neurologic Intensive Care unit with a variety of medical conditions, working primarily with patients recovering from stroke and traumatic brain injury. With this experience, Kyle has learned how to incorporate knowledge of various body systems to create the best outcomes for his patients. He focuses on listening to and collaborating with patients on strategies to reach their goals through physical therapy treatment. Kyle genuinely loves connecting with patients and equally enjoys educating them as well as learning from and about them.
Outside of the clinic, Kyle enjoys running, and recently completed his first of hopefully many half marathons. He loves to hike and explore new areas, especially after going to school in the Finger Lakes. With relocating to the city, Kyle recently learned how to ride a bike and will be using that to explore the area. He also plays the guitar and loves live music. As a life-long runner, he has developed a passion for working with new and experienced runners alike, as well as various other musculoskeletal injuries. He is currently focused on continuing education courses in strength and conditioning, as well as incorporate evidence-based practice across all treatment sessions.
