Kavya Mohandas is a licensed physical therapist with a Master’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Before pursuing her master’s, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in India, building a strong foundation in her profession. Her academic journey reflects a commitment to evidence-based practice and advancing patient care through specialized training. She is a licensed Physical Therapist in New York State, with additional certifications in dry needling, myofascial release, IASTM, cupping, and orthopedic manual therapy.
With over a year of professional experience, she has worked in India as a physical therapist, refining her skills in both outpatient and inpatient settings. After moving to the U.S., she expanded her expertise through clinical rotations and professional exposure in various healthcare environments. Her experience includes institutions like Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Stance Physiotherapy, where she excelled in patient care and research. As a teaching assistant at the University at Buffalo, she mentored undergraduate students in biomechanics and neuroanatomy, emphasizing hands-on learning and evidence-based practices. Her expertise spans musculoskeletal rehabilitation, post-operative care, geriatric and neurological therapy, and she is passionate about helping patients regain functional independence and improve their quality of life.
Beyond her professional work, she is a certified Bharatnatyam dancer and enjoys expressing herself through this classical art form. She also loves playing badminton, watching movies, and traveling, as these activities allow her to explore new cultures. These interests inspire her to bring creativity, discipline, and a sense of balance to her personal and professional life.
