Kathleen received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. She was a recipient of Downstate’s prestigious Sigrid A. Hansen Award given to one graduating senior each year who demonstrates exceptional levels of academic excellence, service, and professionalism. Kathleen is also an alumna of Stony Brook University (go Seawolves!), where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and graduated summa cum laude.
Kathleen has experience working with culturally diverse patients with a variety of neurological and orthopedic conditions. During her clinical rotation in a NYC public hospital, Kathleen had the opportunity to treat medically complex patients recovering from traumatic brain injuries and strokes on the inpatient unit. She also treated patients recovering from neck and upper extremity injuries in the hospital outpatient department. Kathleen gained additional experience treating chronic pain and repetitive stress injuries of the neck and upper extremity during her rotation in a privately owned outpatient clinic. Kathleen is passionate about providing high quality, evidence-based occupational therapy to all her patients. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques including exercises, functional activities, manual therapies, splinting, and patient education with the goal of helping patients return to their valued activities and reach their full potential.
When Kathleen isn’t in the clinic there’s a good chance she’s exploring NYC, searching for the best coffee and baked goods the city has to offer. She also enjoys staying active by working out at her local gym, and when the weather warms up you might catch her going for a hike or soaking up sun by the beach. Kathleen is also passionate about food. She loves to cook for her friends and family, but she never turns down the opportunity to try a new and exciting restaurant.
