Kate Hinrichs, PT, DPT

Kate is a graduate from Long Island University – Brooklyn, New York, with her Doctorate in Physical therapy and Bachelor of Science in Health Science. Throughout her studies, Kate enjoyed her musculoskeletal, pediatric, and therapeutic exercise courses. During her undergraduate and graduate years, Kate played D1 Water Polo for her university and captained a championship titled season. Her years as a Student-Athlete drove her to learn more about injury prevention, recovery, return to sport procedures and training the whole person; mind, and body.   

Kate’s clinical experience spans acute care working with patients in the ICU, neurological and cardiac care units, outpatient orthopedics, and pediatric therapy, treating both surgical and non-surgical cases. Kate spent her outpatient orthopedic clinical experiences working with a variety of pediatric and adult athletes of varying skill levels, performing running analyses, sport specific testing, and return to play protocols for both surgical and non-surgical injuries. Kate dedicates time as a volunteer and coach in learn to swim programs, developmental sports programs, and water polo training camps for all ages and skill levels. Kate demonstrates a passion for being active and prioritizes the patient’s goals and lifestyle through a combination of evidence-based practice and individualized care plans. Kate believes in helping patients achieve their goals and get back to what they want to achieve in life.  

Kate’s passion for Physical Therapy stems from a lifelong love of sport, the outdoors, and being active. From a young ages Kate has participated in Water Polo, Swimming, Tennis, Karate, Field Hockey, Soccer, and many more. Kate has represented her country, South Africa, in both Water Polo and Karate. Kate also loves Hiking, Scuba Diving, Reading, Cooking, and exploring food cultures across the world. Kate has had her fair share of injuries and has had many kind physical therapists who have helped her recover and returned her to her passions, she strives to be able to provide the same for her patients throughout her career.
