Jansen graduated from Columbia University’s DPT program along their Neurological specialty track. Before that, he attended Syracuse University earning my Bachelor’s of Science in Health & Exercise Science. Jansen gained valuable knowledge on a wide range of both orthopedic & neurological pathologies and how best to help treat individuals with such conditions.
His clinical experiences range from Acute care at NYU Langone Brooklyn to outpatient settings in Philadelphia, Midtown, and most recently on an Apache Native reservation in Arizona. Coming from the Mohawk reservation of Kanehsatake in Canada, Jansen has a deep interest in one day returning home to help treat the underserviced reservations in Canada & the US. He’d like to first gain more clinical knowledge & experience from the very talented SPEAR team and working with the wonderful individuals of NYC. His passions are with treating a wide range of conditions and providing compassionate & supportive care that is individualized for each patient.
His passion for PT comes from the lack of medical services that are offered on many Native reservations in Canada & the US. Jansen is not only the first PT, but the first Doctorate level graduate ever from my community.
During his personal time, he enjoys playing lacrosse, golf, tennis, and rock climbing, and he’s an avid freshwater fisher and bow hunter. Jansen tries to spend as much time outdoors as he can during his free time.
