Himani received her graduation from K.J. Somaiya Medical College, India. The thought that exercising can improve someone’s quality of life and well-being has always appealed to her. As a student, Himani gained her clinical skills in evaluating and prescribing exercise programs for musculoskeletal conditions, sports-based injuries, and post-surgery rehabilitation after injuries like tibial fracture, ACL tear, labral tear, etc. Himani is skilled in performing joint mobilization techniques and soft tissue release techniques. During her clinical rotation, Himani has worked with patients having cardio-pulmonary conditions and neurological conditions like Parkinson’s, stroke, and cerebral palsy.
To gain knowledge and improve her practical experience in rehabilitation related to sports-based injuries, Himani pursued a Master’s in Exercise Science and Nutrition Science from the University of Tampa, Florida. She worked as a sports science research assistant which involved monitoring and analyzing the performance metrics of women’s basketball and soccer players during in-season practice and game sessions to reduce the factors of injuries.
Through her practice, Himani has worked with patients with a spectrum of musculoskeletal and sports-based injuries. She has prescribed customized rehab programs to meet people’s individual goals.
Outside of work, Himani enjoys running, hiking, and playing tennis. She looks forward to attending baking workshops in NYC over weekends.
