Gurkarn earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Adelphi University and went on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Marist University.
During his academic training, Gurkarn focused on outpatient orthopedic settings, gaining extensive hands-on experience treating a diverse range of patients. His clinical expertise includes pediatric sports rehabilitation, geriatrics, neuromuscular conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, and post-operative care for both upper and lower extremities. He also volunteered at Mercy Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he worked with patients managing the effects of long COVID.
A native of Queens, New York, Gurkarn leads an active lifestyle and enjoys playing basketball, running, and hiking. In his free time, he values traveling, spending time with family, and playing video games. Gurkarn’s interest in the medical field began at a young age, driven by a strong desire to help others improve their quality of life. He believes physical therapy goes beyond treating injuries—it’s about building trust, forming meaningful connections, and creating a supportive environment where patients feel truly at home.
