Zhengda earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Health Science from Hendrix College. He is a member of the APTA Geriatrics and Hand & Upper Extremity Section.
During his time at NYMC, Zhengda undertook clinical rotations in outpatient orthopedics, focusing on diverse cases such as post-operative joint rehabilitation, pain management, balance impairments, and functional training for patients seeking to return to physically demanding occupations. This hands-on experience has equipped Zhengda with the ability to swiftly connect with his patients, facilitating their journey to recovery and enabling them to resume both life and work with prior level of function. Zhengda’s expertise extends to pre-frailty prevention, demonstrated through the completion of his doctoral project. Additionally, he holds LSVT-BIG certification for Parkinson’s rehabilitation, highlighting his dedication to comprehensive care.
Born and raised in the southern part of China, Zhengda has spent around a decade in the United States and continues to embrace cultural diversity. Fluent in Chinese, he excels in connecting with patients from various cultural backgrounds, fostering a comfortable and inclusive healthcare environment.
Zhengda’s upbringing revolved around competitive swimming for 15 years, fostering a keen awareness of holistic fitness for injury prevention. During his undergraduate years, he excelled in mid-distance breaststroke and butterfly events at the Division III level. His commitment to well-rounded living is further evident in his pursuits of weightlifting, cooking, cycling, and gardening.
