Aneeka Murjany, OTD, OTR/L

Aneeka earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Gannon University, where she actively participated in the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA). She previously graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.

From the beginning of her career, Aneeka developed a strong passion for hand therapy, gaining extensive clinical experience in various outpatient orthopedic settings. She has successfully treated a wide range of upper extremity conditions, including fractures, neuropathies, amputations, and post-surgical recovery cases. Her treatment approach emphasizes an occupational focus, ensuring patients regain function and return to meaningful activities. She incorporates evidence-based interventions, patient education, and customized rehabilitation strategies to optimize recovery.

As the inaugural capstone student for Spear’s Hand Therapy Program, Aneeka conducted in-depth research and authored a position paper providing guidance on integrating occupation-based practices into therapy. Her commitment to advancing the field has led her to seek ongoing professional development, including specialized training in custom orthotic fabrication and manual therapy techniques. She aspires to earn her Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential to further enhance her expertise in upper extremity rehabilitation.

Beyond clinical practice, Aneeka is passionate about mentorship and advocacy, supporting future occupational therapists in their professional journeys. She remains engaged in continuing education and is an active participant in professional organizations dedicated to hand therapy.

Originally from Northern Virginia, Aneeka is now embracing her transition to New York City. When she is not in the clinic, she enjoys taking dance workshops, staying active, exploring new countries, and spending time with her family.
