Aidan McFerran, PTA

Aidan graduated magna cum laude with honors from Herkimer College where he earned his associate in applied science from the physical therapist assistant program. Aidan was the first student in Herkimer College’s history to receive a perfect score on the NPTAE board exam. During his time at Herkimer, Aidan conducted an honors project on PT telehealth utilization during the pandemic and incorporated an EHR into his school’s PTA program. Aidan is a member of the Herkimer College Perkins Grant Local Advisory Committee. Aidan was one of eight recipients of the 2021 Vanguard Award in New York State. 

He has experience treating patients in the outpatient and inpatient setting throughout New York State from Buffalo to Albany. Aidan has treated stroke and coronary artery bypass graft patients in the CV ICU at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Additionally, Aidan has experience working with the geriatric population, treating deconditioned and dementia patients at United Hebrew in New Rochelle. Most of his experience includes treating in the outpatient setting, working for UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Buffalo. Treating alongside the NHL Sabers PT, Aidan gained competence in working with ACL reconstructions, quad tendon repairs, rotator cuff repairs, knee replacements, hip replacements, shoulder replacements, low back pain and concussion patients.  

Aidan has a special interest in treating athletes. He believes in empowering his patients to take control of their health and bodies by equipping them with the tools to succeed. Aidan also enjoys working with patients experiencing low back pain, having worked with a certified McKenzie method therapist at UBMD. In his free time, Aidan enjoys cycling, tennis, hiking and skiing with friends and family.
