Forest Hills - Queens Blvd

Sebastian Altomarino is the Clinical Director of Spear’s Forest Hills location. Sebastian received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. During his academic experience, Sebastian worked in skilled nursing facilities, long-term acute care, acute rehabilitation centers, and intensive care units. Sebastian completed his final rotation at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS with a focus on tactile military orthopedic conditions and inpatient rehabilitation.

Growing up in Queens, Sebastian is a native of New York City. Prior to playing Division I Soccer at Sacred Heart University, Sebastian played for Archbishop Molloy High School and was a player for the New York Cosmos Development Academy.

Sebastian’s exposure to the melting-pot of NYC led to his interest in a profession in which individuals could communicate in a common “language”. He would soon learn through his experiences that the common language was exercise and movement. Sebastian’s involvement in volunteering, sports, and academic involvement guided him to pursue a career in health. He explored the different settings of physical therapy and was instantly attracted to a career in which individuals leave moving and living how a better life.

Sebastian believes that physical therapy is like a puzzle. The patient and rehabilitation team play a part in completing the perfect pictured result. The puzzle pieces are never the same and therefore, Sebastian believes in individualizing the care to help each person reach their functional goal.

During his free time, Sebastian enjoys surfing, playing soccer, and hiking.
