Kevon graduated from Tufts University, where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. At Tufts, he served as president of his cohort, learning what leadership means for the next generation of physical therapists, connecting with his classmates past cultural barriers, and internalized the importance of representing his colleagues in a way that will propel the profession.
During the program, Kevon had the opportunity to travel across the country, including attending the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in Texas hosted by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), completing an acute care clinical rotation with Ochsner Health in New Orleans, and finishing the program with a diverse outpatient rotation right outside of Baltimore, Maryland. Across his experiences, Kevon has had the opportunity to observe open heart surgery, work on oncology, cardiology, and neurology units, receive residency-style mentorship, attend lectures on the latest research and technology being developed in the field, and observe the effects culture and socioeconomic class have on the reception of and access to healthcare.
Kevon has developed his clinical decision making to be patient centered and patient specific. He emphasizes having a thorough objective interview with his patients in order to learn their lifestyle, understand how their limitations have impacted them, and create a plan of care that will enhance their everyday life. Kevon promises to challenge his patients in order for them to heal, grow, and love the privilege of movement.
Outside of the clinic, Kevon enjoys nature, working out, working on cars, studying world religions, having tough conversations, trying new things, and telling stories through the medium of illustration.
