Debbie earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology & Health Sciences from the College of William & Mary. As a previous personal trainer, collegiate dance team member, registered yoga instructor, and group fitness instructor, Debbie spent many years in the fitness realm before transitioning to the healthcare field, where she combines these passions to help people achieve their full physical potential.
Debbie’s clinical experience is in the inpatient and outpatient settings, treating complex illnesses and injuries, including amputation, multiple complex orthopedic trauma, and traumatic/degenerative neurological conditions like strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson’s Disease. With her expertise in treating complex cases from the acute stage to the chronic stage, she has honed her ability to tailor care at any stage of the rehabilitation process to achieve patient goals. This includes ordering custom orthotics and equipment, coordinating with other medical providers, addressing lifestyle changes, providing ergonomic recommendations, training caregivers, and much more. Her outpatient experience has included treating a diverse patient population including neurologic, post-surgical, vestibular, geriatric, high fall risk, and orthopedic populations, both on land and in the aquatic setting.
Debbie is originally from Virginia but is thrilled to practice physical therapy in New York City. When she is not in the clinic, she can be found traveling, exploring the city with friends and family, reading a book in Central Park, or exercising.
