Physical Therapist - PT, DPT

Karina Zalatar, PT, DPT

Financial District - 70 Pine

Karina earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Hawai’i Pacific University in 2024 as part of their inaugural cohort. Before moving to New York, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science at Cal Poly Pomona. Karina’s background in competitive swimming and water polo, as well as her experience coaching swimmers and teaching people of all ages how to swim, helped develop her strong interest in movement and physical therapy.

With experience in a variety of clinical settings, Karina has worked with a diverse population of patients in various settings. Prior to becoming a DPT student, she served as a Physical Therapy Aide in a clinic specializing in aquatic therapy. As part of her program, she acquired clinical experience in both outpatient and neuro-rehabilitation settings, tailoring her care to the unique needs of each patient. During her neuro- rehab experience in Arizona, she gained knowledge treating patients with upper and lower extremity amputations, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease and other neurologic conditions. Her work in these environments has refined her approach to rehabilitation, with a focus on enhancing mobility, strength, and overall quality of life. She values patient-centered care and strives to empower those she works with to help them achieve their goals.

Originally from the Bay Area, Karina now enjoys exploring the city and discovering new brunch spots. When Karina is not in the clinic, you can find her planning her next trip, baking or running outside. She loves spending time with family and friends and cheering on the Niners and Lakers.
